KJJ is an ever evolving collection of pieces I create sometimes alone and sometimes in collaboration with loved ones! The Dream Keepers have been a collaborative project with my sister and mother-in-law, two amazingly creative fiber artists. KJJ started as a hobby that has very slowly morphed into a Buisness. I work out of my home studio in Dallas where I live with my husband and our two pups. Besides jewelry, I love true crime podcasts, cooking with my husband, and reading. Jewelry tempered by art
I love color and creativity. For every piece of jewelry I have on my website, there are 10 or 20 failed attempts and variations scattered around my studio. Life isn’t perfect, it can be messy and it doesn’t always go as planned but things have a pretty wonderful way of working out. Maybe my jewelry is a metaphor for that. What I mean by that is, I do not have any technical or professional training in the art of jewelry, so a great deal of this is trial and error. I think the same is true of many small jewelry businesses. This is exciting because while so many of us are creating a lot of similar things, we’re all doing it in different ways and learning as we go. When I first started making jewelry, I wanted to have “signature look”, so that if someone is wearing one of my pieces, their friend might look at it and say “oh you’re wearing a KJJ!” but i’ve learned that trying to have a signature look is incredibly limiting. What i’m making now might not look anything like what comes about next year. Or next month!
